Domain Changing

Hi there,

I have bought a domain, what is the process I have to go through to get this attached to a domain?

EDIT: I have changed the nameservers on my domain, what do I do now?

Do you want to point your new domain name to an existing domain? If so you need to park the domain - the exact instructions will depend on your hosting company.

Nope not to an existing domain.

I asked my hosting company to give me a temp address whilst i sort out the domain.

Their ticketing system is down so I was hoping I may be able to do it on my own.

Its not very clear what your asking.

Where do the nameservers point to then? Can you edit the DNS records? They need to point to the host's IP address while also the vhosts config on the server needs to be edited so that it directs to your site.

Neither do I really.

I have changed the Nameservers of my GoDaddy domain to the name servers of my hosting account. That is all I have done so far.

I guess I will have to wait until their ticketing system is back up.

Depending on your hosts control panel, you should be able to "Add the Domain" to your account. So basically now that your domain is pointing to your host's nameservers it just needs to point to your specific account.
