Hi,

Whats the minimum we can safely get away with on a small business server 2003 backup if the whole thing died on us? Was thinking:

Exchange mail store
System state

We should then be able to reinstall small business server 2003 on fresh hardware (if the old box is up in smoke) and restore the domain from the system state???

is this a bad idea, I'd rather not image the whole disk.

Depends entirely how much of sbs you're using..... 0_o

why? Surely the system state holds all the domain information? Armed with this backup and a small business server install CD will I be able to re-create the domain??

Edit: Not bothered about the programs installed on DC, its only some UPS services - I am interested in keeping the IIS settings though

I think what i'm really trying to ask is should we just buy a tape drive for the SBS and eb done with it, just do a full image every night of the system and exchange, or can we get away with the system state and exchange mail box database??
