what domain hosting provider/DNS provider do you use? I have been using freeparking.co.uk for the last 10 plus years. But their service levels have dramatic taken a change for the worse.. takes ages to reply to support tickets and have had lots of problems with their systems going down recently. So I am looking to transfer my domains to another provider. Anyone have recommendations for good ones?
Thanks in advance.

Avoid 1&1 like the plague.
Where they are hosted geographically is irrelevant as the difference is going to be +/- 10~ ms ping :p

Tso/vida (the same company!) seem to get the most ratings here, I think their Tech Director (or employee?) is also an active member on the forums here.

DNS has nothing to do with ping/latency once a connection is established.

DNS propagates worldwide so it doesn't matter where the domain registrar is located, unless you want to be geolocated in a specific country for better SEO.

I'm assuming he has hosting as well as domains.

EDIT: Didn't really read the OP in much detail.
For domains only then I'd recommend namecheap. Cheap & fast support. I've not had any DNS issues with them for ~2 years I've been with them.
