domain name sellers

As above, cheapest one. If they mess you about, go to the next.

I reg'd a domain then came to use it 6 months later only to find the company hadn't actually registered it. They gave me my money back pretty sharpish to be fair and I went somewhere else as luckily it was still available.

Thanks, guys,

That's useful stuff.

It's actually business (small business) rather than personal I'm looking for. Does that make any difference?

Presumably, to check whether it's been registered or not I'd have to contact nominet, right?

One last thing. One of the names I'm interested in comes up as taken. I get a curious option which says 'Taken...... .....I own this - transfer it for £9.99'. What exactly does this mean? How do I find out who owns it and whether I can buy it out?

Thanks again, guys.

1. It doesnt make any difference.

2. Yes or could perform a whois on the domain.

3. Same again, do a whois. Taken means the domain has already been registered by someone else, the 9.99 is saying that if you are that person who has already registered then you can transfer the domain to them.

Enter the domain in question into here for registration information:

Thanks, Major_Disaster.

The one thing that confuses me a bit is transfer from where and to where? If you've already leased the domain name (or bought the lease from the previous owner) don't you just park it wherever you want?

Thanks,

Pav
