I bought www.dorsetwebdesign.co.uk and .com a while a go and did a few websites. ( I hate it and not particularly good at it so stopped)

I let dorsetwebdesign.com lapse and have noticed someone else using it as well as .net.

I still have .co.uk can I make him give them back. He's offered me £70 for .co.uk

thoughts anyone. ?

why do you want it back if you don't do it anymore?
I'd be quite happy with £70 to stop using a domain I no longer use

you let it lapse because you didnt want it and someone else bought it

and now you want to make him give it back ?

the short answer is , no , i dont think you stand a hope in hell of getting it back but you just said you are not doing it anymore so why would you want it back ?

why dont you offer him the .co.uk for a reasonable price and be done with it

Short answer, no.

Long answer, nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

If you're trading on the .co.uk and the person who has the .com has started trading under the same name to try and get your customers, you could probably make a case for cyber squatting. Generally speaking though, it's tough luck.

Did you register a company name with companies house? Has he?

I'd negotiate with him around the co.uk domain and get rid of it if you think he's offered you a fair price. Better £100 in your pocket than a domain you're not interested in.

I'd say you feel it's worth closer to £200 and take it from there.

If you don't want to do web design and this guy does then just leave it. Try and get what you can for your domain.
