A game hosting company I am with offer 1GB of free web space, this needs to be setup and they have requested a Domain Name.

I currently own one domain name which I use for forums.

I don't want this being changed and I only want the 1GB of space to use as a http web redirect service (hosting maps and mod files)

Would I be able to provide the domain name I currently have but include an extra line?

Thanks for the help guys, I can see that I need to create an A-Record first with the new domain name + IP address.

So I need to get the IP address from the web hosting site first.

www. is a subdomain that denotes that the content is for the world wide web*. Since domains are used for more than just web content, the majority of people who have any need to care, do know the difference.

Just saying. :p

* You can happily ignore this practice and not use www. if you think your domain name looks better without it or something, it's more used to help people mentally understand what they're connecting to than anything more.

I already have "www" pointing to my main site so I couldn't use that anyway.

However the process was super quick and all is working as expected.
