domain parking :(

Hi

Someone has parked a domain that a local volunteer organisation wants to buy.

The domain had the usual "contact us to buy this domain" information, so i asked the guy how much he wanted - he wants £4500 (excluding vat)!

Now i'm assuming there is nothing i can do about this, but my main question is how can he justify charging that much for a domain that costs £3 to register? Is there some kind of formula they use (accidental hits on that site etc?), or is it just a case of because they can?

Probably just put the domain into http://leapfish.com/ or something similar, which IMO is a load of rubbish - it thinks my domain is worth $5,696.00! All I use it for is hosting images to hot link to on OCUK and other sites, and it has one page on the server, which just links to another site

Although I did get an offer off someone who wanted to buy it aswell for a few hundred $$$
