I want to purchase a domain, but just have one question before so:

Can I have it pointing to my ISP email address for email (obviously

) and pointing at my IP address for http etc.?

123reg look the cheapest at the moment at £2.59 a year for .co.uk. Any cheaper ones off the top of your head? 1&1 have gone up to £2.99...

no-ip.com allows it so i would guess 123 would

You're going to need some kind of hosting service for both, mail forwarding to push the email to your ISP address, and a DNS service for both.
It's not quite as simple as buy a domain and you're done.

With the basic 1and1 domain package you get DNS hosting, and can set up basic email and web forwarding.

i was recommened these http://www.register1.net/ a few years ago and have been brilliant. Had one tiny problem (no loss of service, renewel screen was missing) and it was sorted within the hour. Much better than the muppets we pay £150 a year for domains at work
