Dominator 1600C7 - poor performance?

I have 2 x 2Gb sticks of Corsair Dominator (not GT) 1600Mhz C7 (7-8-7-20) RAM and I just want to check if my memory is performing correctly.

I ask because it only scores 7.7 in WEI (yes I know WEI is a terrible benchmark!) yet I see people getting 7.9 no problem with memory a lot worse than mine running at 1333Mhz.

I did manage to get 7.9 (only just!) by overclocking my memory to 2140Mhz, which wasn't prime95 stable at all.

AIDA64 memory bench:

WEI score (7.7):
Bandwidth Mb/s: 18832.75229

Do these numbers look normal? Or what do I need to do to increase the performance without massive overclocks?

Memory bandwidth looks fine compared to this:

Memory Read test

But as you can see it's lower than Intel's offerings.

The WEI may also take account of quantity as well as quality, I'm not sure.

WEI gives an overall score of your system based on your lowest component score.

So if your RAM scores 7.8 and your GFX card scores 7.9, BUT your HDD scores 5.2........your WEI index score will be 5.2.

I have 2000MHz VERY limited edition "Elpida Hyper" Dominator GT.

2000MHz, 7,8,7,20 1T and it scores 7.9.

I'm also running a 990X at 5GHz 200Blck, so considering my overall system bandwidth and memory bandwidth, I'd say your WEI score is about spot on.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like my memory performance is spot on.

Any tips on overclocking to improve memory bandwidth? I can't seem to get it stable at anything.
