Hello,

I currently run 2 x 2Gb corsair dominator ram.

i believe they are rated at 1066Mhz

This is now a discontinued product but i would like to add another 2 x 2Gb sticks as im doing a lot of photography stuff and my ram is almost maxing out during raw processing.

Can any one recommend a compatible ram kit?

manythanks

Hey,

I am using win7 ultimate x64.

I used to have ram and cpu over-clocked a treat on xp but on win 7 it always seems unstable.

Just to be sure - can i please ask you what i should manually set my frequency, timings and voltage to?

Edit - thinking about it... Re the unstablity, shortly after installing win7 i had to send both sticks of ram back on rma to corsair Holland as they were failing on test. I have not tried upping any settings since the replacements arrived :)

sweet - im of to play with my bios. Will order the recommended ram on Tuesday when i get paid. Have just read the reviews and it looks ideal. :D

Thanks again for such speedy helpful answers. -

*quite chuffed i got the answer rite btw :p

Edit

i changed the settings and low and behold system is showing marked improvements - especially with raw format photo editing. I have also been able to OC a q9550 to quite a respectable 3.4MHz quickly by using a pre saved bios profile form ages ago as a starting point. System ran stable on prime95 torture test for an hour - time will tell if its really stable. i am downloading some benchmarking software and must say im fully enthused again having resined my self to a standard ok speed pc.

ok - ram ordered yesterday - arived today + free postage.

Fantastic.

I shall be fitting later this evening. The only prob i have now is despite setting timings and frq manually in bios cpuz still shows the ram at 800Mz :'(

I am going to strip it down a bit for full clean and check everything over when i fit the ram and then have a play with bios settings. The new ram is rated at 2.3v on the sticks them selfs - *fingers crossed it will all work
