Half price for 8 packets of 1lb mince from Donald Russell. Plus extra 10% off if use code mince01

Quidco/TCB too.

I've not used them before, but apparently their mince is much better than supermarket offerings. £23.40 gets you 3.5kgs of quality mince delivered.

Given normal supermarket fare is £4 per 500g (or £3.33 if a 3 for £10 deal is on), this works out at the same rate, but better quality and delivered to your door. :D

I use DR for steaks and beef cuts for casseroles, not used them for mince but when deals are on they are suaully very good value.

Quidco seems to have issues tracking but so long as you go through Quidco and then if it's not tracked in a week then you can raise a ticket. I have been paid via Quidco for my transactions after a month or so.

Ah, I would so pick this up, but I don't really have space in the freezer for 3.5kg!

Hmm didn't think about where i was going to store it :D. I'll probably use a couple of packs straight away, to have a go at making some burgers. Going to order a press later.

Oh, just one thing that annoys me about Donald Russell though is the amount of spam (both online and snail mail). It's really unnecessary and it's a massive waste of paper as it just goes in the bin mostly. I literally get about 2 emails a day and about 3 big magazine size letters in the post.

I wouldn't mind if its frozen anyway, intact it would be better in most cases as long as it didnt tharw out in transit. You have to bulk buy online, so you have to freeze anyway. A commercial freezer, will freezer it faster than a home one.

As long as you spend a bit of money then the delivery is cheap, or from a lot of places free. I'll be buying about 15kilos of meat from them tomorrow.

haha so after I posted about them sending snail mail in the post all the time. I wrote them a message using their online contact form:

Hi,

I have been a customer with Donald Russell for about 9 months and I really enjoy buying my meat from you however I really feel it quite unnecessary the amount of printer mail I get from your company. I am an avid believer in saving environmental waste and I literally receive about 2 or 3 large sized packets of paper and catalogue mail from Donald Russell. I would like to know how to tell you to stop sending me the paper mail. I am quite happy to receive all your latest deals and information via email but wish to stop receiving the paper mail.

Regards

and they replied with:

Dear Mr S,

Thank you for your e-mail. I can confirm that I have updated our records to remove you from our postal mailing list as requested, so you will now only receive e-mails. I have noted your comments about saving environmental waste, here at Donald Russell we are actively seeking ways to help our environment so appreciate your feedback.

Please be aware that there may be an overlap in time in the details being removed from our mailing list and our mailing house being brought up to date with these changes. One further mailing may be received, apologies in advance if this is the case.

Kind Regards,

So hopefully that will stop with the pile of mail stacked up in my house now.

If it comes in tubs like the supermarket just open them up and bag it then stick it in the freezer.

Oh true.. I feel like an idiot now lol.

Edit: Just bought it! Getting it next Tuesday, so that should give me time to use a few of the things in the freezer to make space!

Not tried them yet (and they're only up the road).

But Westin seem to get highly recommended, also soo much cheaper than DR and even supermarkets but better quality.

They even do bodybuilder protein packs of 10/20kg of chicken and currently do buy one get two free on mince.
