Anyone ordered steaks etc from them ?

Are they any good? I got an offer through from Virgin wines thinking of giving them a go

Yeah the prices are slightly eye watering , this virgin code although nothing exclusive gives you 50% off so brings it down to "normal" prices

Apologies for not searching but I never seem to get on with the search function on this forum :-(

I ordered some food from there, was very good.

I will only order things that I can get discount on due to the prices though.

Their steaks are excellent - I've been getting them for a few years now, and have never had a duff one, where other suppliers are a bit more hit and miss.

I'm not so sure they are that bad though. I mean premium steaks in say Asda or Tesco (hoping they're not horse steaks) are about £7 - £9 for fillet steak. It's about £9 each from DR and then if you go through Quidco you get a 7% cashback. It's all about buying DR stuff when it's on offer.

I also buy onglet pieces from DR that are usually on offer for about £4 - £5 for a good amount. The meat from that is amazing in stews and casseroles. When I bought premium casserole steak from a supermarket I threw half of it away as it was soooo grissly. The DR stuff had no chewy bits at all.

I ordered from Donald Russell once last year when they had an offer on (wouldn't have ordered otherwise) and the meat was good. It wasn't as good as the meat I get from East London Steak Company though, and it wasn't as nicely packaged or delivered. Worth a try if you have a good offer though.
