yes 1.6MB/sI assume he's getting 1.6MB/s not 1.6Mb/s as usually downloads are in MegaBytes not Megabit.
3.0Depends on if it's plugged in to a USB 3
150MB/s from EEand the actual speed of their internet
about 10m but also through a floorhow far they are from the router/access point
Can they use speedtest.net and see what they get from there? For 150mb that seems a tad slow.
Either the PC/adapter is too far or something else is holding it back. Did you check the network properties in window to seeing the wifi status? I would imagine being 10m away with a floor in between would force it to fall back to 2.4GHz, which would end up getting around the ~32mb mark.when he is plugged in 120mbps, when on the dongle and in the room the pc lives in 32mbps

If you go into the network properties, you should be able to find something like this:it dose show 2.4GHz and signal strength as excellent.
i can find how to change to 5GHz
It wouldn't matter as those AC600 Wi-Fi dongles are USB 2 only so it would be pointless to plug them into a USB 3 port since there wouldn't be any benefit in it.If his internet is much faster then its worth checking he's using a USB3 port not USB2.
