Wow that sucks!

I've not been following the story but I gather that the funds from the circuit has been spent on the redevelopment but due to them not completing in time (and ran out of money?) and the fact they lost the contract to host the F1 means that the administrators have been brought in?

It's a damn shame as I think it's a brilliant track.

Hardly surprising, everyone knew it would end this way when the whole British GP to Donington idea first started, they bit off FAR more than they could ever chew.

it will be back
it only means that donington ventures leisure ltd have got bust(they only had a lease).
the wheatcrofts still own the track so im sure someone else will want to take it over

It just goes to show why Silverstone didnt go for the stupid option and did what they did, otherwise tey would have been in all sorts of trouble.

Having said that though, Im sure the track will recover but it won't be an international track again any time soon.

it will be back, it has been passed back to the owners and someone will make a new offer.

Indeed, the current lease is probably horribly expensive and required the british GP to actually let the leaseholders make any money - without that it was worthless.

as long as its reopened it will still be an international track,
as its still holding the world superbike race in august and im sure there are a few other international events
