Dont be scared of sharpness...

whats the point of decorating the needles?
if the person is scared by them then they wont look at them in the first place...

I think it's a fantastic idea. Hospitals are scary places. I think little touches like this will really help.

They've been doing this for years, I remember when I was a kid I had a "a pretty butterfly land on my hand", still hurt though :p

Oh like it's that simple. If you've got something seriously wrong with you and have to spend a lot of time in hospitals then there's no getting away from this stuff. And everywhere you look there's something that reminds you of pain. It all helps.

I was in Hospital for about 2 months , some time ago.

During that time I had to have twice daily blood samples taken.

The nurse who took the blood samples was nicknamed " The Vamp " , for obvious reasons.

To play along with this she always wore a tie with comedy Dracula's or Vampires on it.

A bit of humour goes along way in Hospitals.

Cheers,

Mark

They always refer to taking blood as "bleeding" though, you're always asked to go bleed so and so, then bleed whatsherface in the corner, I really don't like that, it sounds horrible.

One of the SHOs at our hospital is from Cluj-Napoca in the transylvania region of Romania, and does a brillant "Ve need your blooooood" :D

I have to confess that the only way I can have an injection or have blood taken is to do just that...look away! If I don't look at all I'm fine. :o

Edit:- And no I didn't click on the link! I really don't need to see needles thanks ;)

Does sound a bit crude.

Lol really, has Cambridge not joined the 21st century with the rest of us then :p

Needles can be indimidating things to children and the gays, so decorating them makes them look a bit more friendly. I think it's a good idea. :)
