But this Merc from the Cult Car Parade (first big Euro show of the season) is awesome!

The paint is fantastic...I think it's brushwork as opposed to airbrush for the majority of the detailing...

Some may remember me posting pics of a satin black Passat with uber-stretched tyres on Merc Carlsson rims a while back...

It's now the sister car to the Merc:

Check the details - panniers, handlebars and iron cross mirrors. Wootypwns.

Makes a nice static display...

Cant use it for much with that arch/tyre clearence

Well the Passat is a daily driver to start with....Dunno about the Merc though.

Both will be on air-ride.

Although I've seen pics of some jap cars with negligable clearance...Where they've just welded the suspension solid.

There's a vid floating around of them driving down the street, bouncing around, in a slammed oldskool jap motor with six foot high exhausts and huge spoilers, tooting a 'Godfather' airhorn.

y'see now i like that, but now this creates a dilemma.
i'm now confused as to whether the other (rat-look?) cars you've posted had been like this one, ie the rust is painted on.
if so i'd look at them differently but if it's real rust then, to me, its just a crap car.
the Merc and the Passat look impressive IMHO and i LOOOOVE the mirrors.

The rat-lookers I post are all completely solid underneath.

The trick is to find an original motor with original paintwork and original patina.

Then work your ass off to make sure that it is mechanically and structurally perfect.

Fit a big engine and some stupendously expensive wheels.

Then roll ;)

I know what they both are.

I didnt know they still used it today but i hate the way they put it on cloths, fasion items and that car.

I still think they shouldnt be allowed to do that. Even if they still use it, it should be kept for military use only.
You dont see people walking around with the victoria cross on there cloths do you?
No, because it doesnt look as hard and tough as the status the iron cross has

My next tattoo is going to incorporate swastikas. Are you narrow-minded enough to have a fit over that or do you see the bigger picture and realise that the swastika is a symbol of peace, love, luck and unity which has been used by many different races, religions and cultures for many, many thousands of years?

stretched tyres for the lose, whats the matter, can't afford the proper size ones? Also looks quite dangerous if you ask me.

Look at the type of cars that sport stretched tyres...Do you really think that the owner/builder couldn't afford an extra £200 for some wider rubber?

LMAO, good call... I look at them and think...just how safe is that?!

They're perfectly safe. Would you agree that drift cars put immense forces onto their tyres that road cars don't experience? Look at their lovely, stretched rubber ;)

Stretching tyres allows you to go lower and fit wider wheels without scrubbing...Besides, I love the way it looks ;)

The fake rust looks really crap, it completely ruins it. If a better job had been done on it, the car might look better but the rust is so obviously fake it has ruined the look.

Look at this pic for example:

It looks like a wood effect on the wheelarch. It really is a poor effort. Maybe I'm just used to seeing better work in this sort of thing as my dad is a special effects artist, but even from a glance it's obvious that the paint effect is a failure.

Apart from that it's not bad.

I can't quite work out if it's supposed to be rust or if it's supposed to look like patina from storage (the runs down the sides of the doors et cetera)...

Either way, I like the look and love the motorbike/chopper influences.

true but it's WAY more commonly assosciated with the dark side (no pun intended).
hey i don't know you and i'm not one to generalise, but by your appearance and taste in cars i'd guess you'll like the shock value of a swastika tattoo.
who the hell am i but i think it's a mistake and will give you some unwanted attention.i don't want to dramatise but it could cause you more than a few problems.

Being that it'll be betwixt my shoulder blades, I can't imagine it causing too many issues with narrow-minded peons ;)

It's nothing about shock value; it's a genuine love for the aesthetic and feeling behind the way I look, the cars I like and so on... :)

Penski ... You seem the type of person who would get this tattoo for the specific reason making people feel stupid, and yourself a big man when you explain the swastikas older meaning.

discuss.

You seem the type of person who enjoys a bit of keyboard psychology. Discuss.

;)

As I said before, it's going to be in the middle of my back. I don't *do* public nudity so it won't be something that I'll be explaining regularly, if at all...

Furthermore, I'm way too confident and my ego is sufficiently large enough that I do not require the belittlement of others to sustain myself.

...I do it as a hobby. ;)
