Hi ive just built a new pc with windows 7 64,both my pcs have win 7 64 both are running through a switch that is connected to a router, the internet is working fine but when i try to access each pc from the other it says

i dont have permission to access, contact your network admin?

the workgroup is workgroup for both no password for sharing and all settings are the same?

Network & Sharing Centre > Change advanced sharing settings.

Enable discovery and disable password protected sharing (as you stated you don't have a password).

Also, make sure your network is set as a Home/Private network, not a public network.

Homegroup and firewall.
Tried creating a share and accessing that? Think user accounts must exist on both machines else connecting as guest which I think is disabled by default.

network is home network, enable discovery and disable password protected sharing are already set. workgroup is workgroup?

i can access the users share folder but not the c drive ?
ive gone to sharing and it says its shared?

If you were trying to access the C drive, it's normally a system share and hidden hence using the '$' to access it. Click on start, run and enter
\\machine name or ip\C$

Username & password would be for an account on remote machine that has admin rights or permission to access C drive. The C drive is normally shared for system purposes and access restricted. Not sure what u are trying to do but if the shares are working, then just create Some more. To access the C$, try the admin account you used during setup.
