Dont know if i should wait for the new ATI cards?

Should i upgrade my x1800xt 256 now to a GTS 640 meg jobbie or wait for the new ati cards? How much more expensive will they be, also are they huge as i have a thermaltake soprano case and cant fit a GTX.

Are nvidia's drivers for vista poor as im running vista ultimate and game at 1920x1200 so i would be right in thinking the 640 meg card would be a lot beter than the smaller one? Looking at charts the 640 meg one doesnt seem hardly any faster than the 320.

Will the release of ATI's new card effect nvidia's pricing?

i would wait as its only 2 weeks left
plus thier highend card is smaller than the gtx its about the size of the gts
and ati may bring better performance at a better price

Definately wait, should still be running everything fine the x1800 XT.

I doubt R600 will affect Nvidia pricing as Nvidia do not do price drops, the price drops can only come from the manufacturers like BFG/EVGA etc...

My 512mb x1900xt-x was not fast enough for 1920x1200 gaming....Can't see how a 256mb x1800xt would be...

But then again am the type of person that likes the ingame details settings maxed out...

Fair enough but i really wont pay over 300 quid for a card so even if ati's card is good thats a tad expensive for me. Is it just 1 card they are bringing out? If so then surely its going against the GTX which is over 300 quid. So really then new ati card(s) are going to be well over 300?

Oh yeah didnt see the resolution lol, but still couple of weeks is nowt.

As above the whole lot are coming out low/mid/high, all in one big hit.

Some of the initial reports suggest they're going to have a model out for similar to GTS prices, with approximately (perhaps even better) performance than the 8800GTX, so it'd be well worth waiting a few weeks to see what appears
