Hello people,

Im gearing up for my 1st build, hoping to get the majority of parts in the January sales.

Im Getting the case now as it will be a xmas prezzie :) the budget is £80

Ive been looking at:-

Bitfenix Shinobi
Bitfenix Raider
Coolermaster 690
Sharkoon T9

The build will be for 100% gaming

Hope you can help

Thanks

Another to consider is the Fractal Design Define R3 if you are after something quiet. I currently have one and it's a decent performer and is very quiet - ntil I stuck a ton of fans in without a fan controller.

Will be getting a Raider soon to try, which was the other case I was considering when purchasing recently.

I would go between the Raider, Define R3 and 690.

Do you have plenty of space where the pc will be? Some cases these days can be huge, so might be worth measuring.

That fractal design one looks really good, very tempted by that, does it have lots of room for big GPU's? just incase the ati 79xx are massive!

Here's a pic with an 11 inch ATI 5870 in...

...so it should house pretty much any single GPU card.

You could go for a Fractal Design Arc Midi though if you want that brand, but the ability to fit an even bigger card. The top part of the hard drive cage on the Arc Midi is removable allowing larger cards to fill that space without touching anything.

Here's a pic I found on google images...

...Think they retail for about £70 - £80.

Hey merry christmas!
just need a quick bit of advice,
I might buy myself one of them 6970 lightnings tomorrow but would it fit the r3 that i have as a present tomorrow? If it wont fit i will have to go for a different card as im not changing the case, although i could gacksaw a hdd bay if needed?!
Thanks

I think the answer to my question is no, msi card is 310mm and case is circa 290mm, how much give is there? Why is this msi so big? Looks like any other 6970 will fit bar this one! Grr

If you want me to measure it I can? Got an R3 sat here.

edit

Your right. A 310mm won't fit. Most spec sheets state the max lenght of gpu supported is 290mm.

It's a solid case but not outstanding in my opinion, I'm sure you'll be happy though! Even with the 5% off, OcUK pricing for this case is a bit dear and too close to the likes of the Corsair 500R for example although it is available quite a bit cheaper elsewhere. ;)

I have a Corsair HX750W in my system, with the fan of the PSU mounted at the bottom intaking cool air.
