Hi All,

Im lookin to buy a New Machine for my self, got a budget arround 1800 pounds.

In that budget i need 2 x24 inch LCD Screens (For Multitask)

Im looking to buy a Quad CPU and 4 gig off Ram On this setup i need Raid for Work and Raptors For Gaming Using the Machine as a Dual Boot So work hard drives are not effected.

Im confused on which motherboard to get and Graphics Card. I can Affford to buy only one GTX cant Go any higher for SLI modes.

Im Looking to Overclock this machine but not too much as i will only run it on air and not watercooling. (Dont have exprience for that)

What Kind of components can you professionals Recomend me i would really appreciate it. I need Something Blazing Fast Super Stable and Good Enough for Games and Multi Tasking Work During the Day.

Thanks

Welcome Ascendedmaster :)
Even thou this is in the motherboard section i take it your looking for a complete rig. Even thou £1800 is a lot the monitors will take a fair chunk of that.

For the monitors i would get the Dell 2407 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-019-DE

cpu Q6600

motherboard Abit IP35 pro

psu corsair HX520

Then graphics either a 8800gt or Ati 3870xt

Not really sure if a raptor is worth it and will add a large cost that you could spend on your work Hdd's

Ram = ballistix

Hope this helps

Thanks

OK Which more powerful, 8800 or ATi

In regards to the monitors, Well iv seen some decent Samaung ones for 310 pounds Seems to have very good reviews. So lets say its 1200 for the Rig.

Raptor is purley for Gaming was hoping arround 70 gig dont need much.

I need to setup raids on the work side of things.

In regards to Ram which is fast as i need 4 gig i multi task a lot and tons of applications are switched at once.

What cases would you recomend i like thermaltake very much.

Thanks for the reply once again much appreicated.

Western Digital do a 74Gb raptor

x2

Case is upto you really. It depends really on the amount of hdd's your wanting to use. Also a slightly larger sace should have better cooling
I personal like the Antec 182

OC UK System

Has any one here purchased the system ocuk are offering,

Im am considering 3 of there system.

The Sli 8800 GTX (is it really worth paying this much)

the Quad 8800 GTX Not sli at 1100 Inc VAT

Or the Cross Fire Setup On2900XT I notice the 3800 series is out are these better or less powerful then the 2900

Is Cross Fire Setup the best one to Get.

I am wandering if these boys can configure it all for me, Such as Placing in the Raid Drives, Adding Blue Ray Disc Swapping bits and bobs.

Thanks

Did not notice you basket :-) Thank you--I can build this machine my self however do you think the professional boys would do this for me, The issue i have here is Is it worth really getting Cross fire or Sli 8800 GTX The Extra 400 bucks is a lot but does it make a massive diffrence.

its not really worth it at the moment. the New nvidia cards come out early next year so i would recomend to go for a 8800gt or second hand gtx and see how you get on. If Later you feel you dont have the performance you need then you can get the new improved cards. Also the cart i did only came to £1100 so it leaves room for more Hdd's etc.
If you want OCUK to do a custom build for you i would think you would be better phoning the shop or dropping them a email
