I have just built a GX280 machine for surfing and downloading at home

I've just been given an ATI X300 passive cooled card for free to put in.

Would it be best to whack CCC on or should I put the basic drivers on and then maybe Omega over the top for tweaking?

Thanks guys

lol just whack the CCC 8.1's you'll be fine, im running one of them in one of my systems, there is no point in overclocking itm trust me lol ;)

X300s oc loads. You can usually get the core up from 325mhz to 450mhz with the passive cooling.

The oc on the memory depends on what memory has been used, but if you get lucky it can oc a lot. You have to remember though that an improvement of 30% on crap is still rubbish as mentioned.

So it won't play Crysis?? :D

Any improvement is just that "an improvement" I'll put the basic drivers on and tweak slightly with ati tray tools or something like that..

Thanks guys

true it overclocks loads but it doesnt do much with the clocks

ive put a spare arctic s1 on mine lol, was just sitting there, so it was rude not to ;)

If its just for surfing and downloading then whats the point in tweaking/overclocking it ? it aint gunna make your downloads any quicker :D
