dont need a master card for crossfire on enabled mobos????

Dunno, it was rumoured to be the CAT 6.5's which were the drivers for it, never appeared, then it was rumoured the 6.6's, and not in them either, so ill take bets on someone saying oh its gona be in the 6.7's. :D

I heard it was going to be the RD600 Chipset (whenever those boards come out), but id wait and see, its supposed to be upto the x1900 GT that don't require masters, but as said best to wait and see as its all rumours so far.

Welccome to the forums btw. :)

I think its 1800's and below that dont require masters with the 6.5 Cats - but hasnt been fully tested so maybe its not worth risking

Im not sure either, yeah the rumour was the x1800's without a master card with the 6.5's, but it was never mentioned anywhere in the drivers, or by ATi that it was now supported in the drivers, so i guess the only way is to try, so if anyone can borrow another x1800 then they can give it a go i spose, but i would'nt buy one to try it just in case, as if its not mentioned anywhere in the drivers or by ATi, then i would take it as a no, and it is all just rumours till they say otherwise. :(

After seeing this

I have no idea anymore

That's the snapped 'crossfire bridge' seen recently in secret at computex I think. ATI drivers for 1800 GTO dongleless crossfire are here but they're beta drivers so presumably it hasn't made it into final candidates yet...

Wonder if Nvidia will kick up a fuss about that, as its using 2x SLi bridges, and we all know SLi belongs to Nvidia.

hang on come to think of it, thats gota be fake aint it, as the cards do not have the connectors for those bridges to be on.

Those aren't current cards Loadsa... ;) RV560 and RV570 have compositing engines in the GPU meaning no dongle, but may use something like this to avoid putting it all over the PCIE bus.
