That's how I do it. You wont get an electric shock like people think.
At the risk of falling into a sarchasm; I can say definitively that my mate tried re-arranging his toast with a knife, only for their to be a shower of sparks from said toaster and the knife stuck to the toaster.

We could only assume that his rubber soled trainers saved him.

Getting away from all the stupid replies for a min...you have got to be one of the most stupidest people on earth to put your hand in a toaster while its toasting. What made you think that it would be ok for you to stick your hand into a toaster??.

Did mummy and daddy not tell u as a young kid not to put your hand into a toaster??. What next, your gonna stick your hand in a pot of boiling water to adjust the eggs that are being boiled in there??:p.

Yes u will be ok, it will hurt for a few days..u might have some nasty burn marks but you will live until your next random stupid act.

Im waiting for someone to vote you into the next Darwin awards:p.

There is a nerve going from your hand, up your arm, down your body all the way to your left teste. In the event of a bad burn / pain to the hand, it has been clinically proven that the left teste will detach itself from its tubes and remain as a loose ball in your sack!

Go see a doc now before its too late!

I tend to have silly moments lol. Before the toaster incident the last stupid thing I did was burn my arm with an upside down can of compressed air. Freeze burn.

I've stuck forks/knives in a toaster before and they just sort of stuck to the elements and required me to pull quite hard to unstick them, no electric shock at all.
