Now here is a strange problem that has got me completely baffled with my Asus M2npv-vm
I have built a lovely machine with an Antec Fusion case and this M2NPV-VM motherboard. I will skip over all the fun I had with a DOA board but the second one was fine.
All was groovy and I was able to put on the latest bios firmware then installed Vista. Sure I had the hassles like other posters here with sound and devices but was able to overcome these and had a working system. Then it happend...
I plugged a DVI single cable into my Samsung 23" LCD tv and into the onboard DVI slot. It worked and Vista came on screen and all was fine. I then connected with a DSUB cable to my HP 17" LCD monitor and the onboard DSUB slot. This again worked and I get full dual screen with no problem. The strange thing is....
Whenever I reboot the machine there is no display on either device until the Vista logo has kicked in and it is prompting me to choose my user profile to load. No matter whether booting to a CD or trying to press DEL on reboot to enter the bios. Even if I just connect the 17" monitor with DSUB or the DVI on it's own and have a single screen I can not get any display until Vista has loaded and then suddenly the screen comes to life.
What can be causing this? Do I just need to bite the bullet and buy a PCIE graphics card? The Antec Fusion case has a poweful PSU so it is not a power thing.
Everything is working in Vista but I am worried that one day I will need to get to the Bios or see the Ram check etc... I just don't get any screen action to the bios until Windows has loaded.
Any ideas out there?
