You take a day off work to go view a car. Drive one and a half hours to get there.

and despite asking many questions beforehand, it turns out that the car has had half a bloomin respray job. The door on the sprayed side exhibited signs of being pummeled back into shape. The advert states; "Very Genuine Well Cared For Example". i know its all sales but such lies?!

What a wasted morning/afternoon.

I had this trouble too when looking for a car. The amount of times i have been told that a car is immaculate and when i get there it is a total turd. I asked one person about the condition of the bodywork and he said it was perfect, I got there and half the paint was peeling from the roof and the door frame looked as it it had been pulled down by people trying to break into it (Common MK3 Fiesta problem).

yea its pretty offputting when everything u see looks like a shed and is described as u say as being immaculate.

my dads an artist/painter who used to own his own art gallery. i took him with me and he spots these resprays, even minor jobs a mile off.

Didnt even bother to start it up or test drive it once we had seen it. the guy didnt even try to talk us into anything fyrther after id told him about my dad and we'd spent a good 5 minutes pointing at the paint differences.

It really can hack you off, I drove about 110 miles to view an "e34 M5 3.8" it turned out to be a 540i, admittedly it looked just like an M5 except it was not advertised as a replica!

Tossers tbh.
