...something doesn't work, you do it again in exactly the same way in a different file in the same directory, and *magically* it all works??

I have literally spent from 8:50 this morning, until now, trying to work out why an asp.net webpage shows fine in Firefox and Opera, while in both IE6 and IE7 the page just shows as blank white space despite the source being exactly as it should when I view it.

The solution? I copied and pasted the entire offending page and its separate corresponding script file into a new pair of corresponding files and then amazingly it all works!

What a waste of a morning , but then again with MS I guess I should really come to expect it...

Waste of a monrnig? I spend the last 4 hours packing away Jaffa cakes and playing Lego Starwars. I think I might be the authority on how to waste away a perfectly good day.

I had this last week, adding a function to a 5000 line .js file and afterwards the corresponding asp (yes, asp :() page wouldn't load. I copied the function and pasted it into a backup copy of the .js file and set this new copy as master.. after that it worked fine, a diff on the two .js files showed no apparent difference
