Doom 1 & 2

I recently dug out Doom collectors edition and tried to play. The music doesnt work and it didnt look how it used to....

Until I installed ZDoom. I have set to 320x240, not using any of the enhanced crap and it looks like the classic. Even the sound works as exactly how it used to.

So im playing through Doom 2 on ultra violence. The only thing I have enabled is the mouse and WASD for movement. (Mouse didnt work in final doom and the midi sounded poor)

Go and download and get playing through this great classic again!

I bought them on Steam back when they were reduced to ~£1.50 each :p
 
i have 2 versions of doom, in one the sound works but the mouse does not, and in the other the mouse works but the sound does not :( making this game unplayable for me

no, NIGHTMARE! was the one where they respawned, ultra violence was the hardest 'playable' difficulty, i found that the eventual lack of ammo was the stopping point for me on this difficulty :)

More baddies than bullets :D I find the chainsaw only worked on the easier monsters, the later monsters need to be shot.
