Doom 3 and Vista problems

Anybody running this OK. I can't get it to run. I am using the latest Vista Beta Forceware drivers. If it is running for you did you have to install DX 9c (although Vista comes with DX10?)

i didnt think Vista came with DX10 as DX10 wasnt near ready :confused:

If I run dxdiag it comes up as DX10??

it's a wierd one, it puts that it's DX10 on dxdiag... but isn't so, it barely has anything in dxdiag, best bet is XP TBH

just curioue but could you not try nd install DirectX 9 and see what appens? i.e.e see if i will install any missing components that may help.

I'd be very suprised if any ATI/NV card from the last year or two wasn't DX10 compatible. Take DX9, even cards over 5 years old are compatible.

It took about 2 secs to install/update runtime components, so I'll pressume it didn't need to update much, although there are no viewable file details in DX.
I have got Quake 4, Sin Episodes, Half Life 2 and Fear all running great. Doom 3 will install but will not load and I have the Far Cry demo installed but it looks pap <-- could be drivers, but I have seen reviews of people playing Doom 3 on Vista. I am playing the Demo though?
