Doom 3 compatibility issue

Anyone else had issues getting Doom 3 to run on windows 7? (64 bit)
I've tried the obvious things like running it as administrator and in compatibility mode but still no joy.

Retail version or Steam? Do you get an error message?

Its the retail version, the screen goes black as if its about to start, but then it just crashes back to desktop without even getting an error message.

check windows event viewer should say why its crashed

Thanks dude its looking a lot better now

Now I just have to figure out the setting that makes it look like i'm wearing a helmet whilst i'm looking at things and turn it off and it will be awesome

You're welcome, that mod is the best I've used for Doom 3.
