Doom 3 Fix Win 7 HD

Might have been posted before (search revealed nothing on this) but just dug out Doom 3 (had loads of problems before on any OS other than 2000/ XP)

Thought I'd give it a bash and did some rummaging online and found this:

I'm running the old 3 CD retail version @ 1920 X 1200 all settings maxed. :cool:

Install>

install patch 1.3>

install patch 1.3.1>

extract files from the link and paste into Doom 3 "Base" folder

Job done - totally new front end and all the FULL HD resolutions work perfectly

Quite enjoyed the Sikkmod, though I've yet to try out the Wulfen mod.

Doom 3 old retail I can max out on my system, but BFG plays like crap, even on. Edium to low settings, will this help?

not new but is good

sikkmod is great if you have no issues ati users can have a host of problems though with it.

I have downloaded Sikkmod, Wolfen and Monoxead textures. Cannot find the fix for Wolfen textures though - zzz_parallaxfix.pk4

Just about to try getting it going now...

its a classic and still VERY jumpy/ Scary!

Kill the lights, put your headphones on and enjoy a pleasurable few hours sitting in your own excrement

Yeh, you need to start a new game so the textures load.

I have it all working but doesn't look anywhere near as good as the screenshots

yep - just install the front end mod in my OP (not the other add ons)

Thanks Andy,

I ended up updating my gfx drivers from 12.4 > 12.10, and it's fixed the issue perfectly. Will try out this mod though, am a little underwhelmed at the 'graphics revamp' they have supposedly done, even with all settings maxed.

I've got BFG via steam, do I insert the files as instructed into the steam equivalent? Worried steam will think I'm trying to hack or edit files and VAC ban me or similar.

which I didn't have to follow when I installed so will reinstall once the bedtime routine with the nipper is sorted and report back

Just bought the old doom 3 plus expansion on steam for two quid!
I'll be attempting to install a mod or two. Are any of them noob friendly? Never molded this game before
