Specs -

Vista Ultimate 32-bit
QX6800
4GB Dominator
8800 GTS 640

I am trying to play in 1920x1200 but even after using the following commands -

r_mode -1
r_customwidth 1920
r_customheight 1200
r_aspectratio 2

the resolution seems to stay at 640x480 (why?) yet the performance is terrible (10FPS). Using the latest patch and the latest official Forceware drivers.

its the compatability issues mate - Doom3 wasnt made to run on vista and vista certainly wasnt made to run Doom3 - its crap at the momment but will get better - it will jsut another 3000 MS patches before it gets there!

That's funny because I can run Doom III fine on Vista.

Also even if Doom III didn't work on Vista it wouldn't be Microsofts problem.

People need to stop shouting off about Vista for no real reason, apart from false claims.

i can play doom3 fine in vista 64. You guys sure that GFX card isnt holding back at that sort of res ?
Also as far as I'm aware Doom3 doesnt make use of quad core (even dual core ?)

My Doom 3 works fine on Vista x64 but bear in mind that for that widescreen "hack" to work on Doom 3 you must patch to the latest version (I think it's 1.2 or 1.3).

I wanted more than 2 gig and I wasn't willing to use 3 gig :) Also I can move to x64 when I feel the need and will have a nice little bonus :p I got Vista 32 before the upgrade to this anyway :)

Not running dual-screen but I am using the latest patch 1.3.1 - I am guessing the game won't look crisp like it should if it were a native supported res? It does fill the screen and look relatively decent but it is stretched a little and the crosshair especially is most noticeable (pixellated).

Also I'm assuming that 8x or 16xAA is too much to ask on a relatively 'prehistoric' game by todays standards?
