Ok, not really poo but it drops to 30fps in action on my system in 1600x1200, 4xAA in Ultra settings. Quake 4 is also gonads in 1280x1024 4xAA aswell.
After reading these 2 articles it seems I can make it 20 or 30fps faster by getting a hotfix of some sort for openGL games.

'A little over a week ago, rumors began spreading that ATI was working on a new tool that delivered substantially improved performance to their recently launched X1000 cards in OpenGL titles such as DOOM 3, Quake 4, and many others'

can anyone help me get the right download to fix the slowness?

edit -K, im thinking i need cat 5.10a drivers but the 6.3 im using seem reasonably good. should i change?

It's very playable but you were just complaining about poor performance issues?

yeh, 50-60fps is better than 30fps (especially when you used to 70fps in dod source in 1600x1200 max everything)

NO, it will run fine on 256MB cards aslong as you have plenty of system RAM, similarly to BF2 :)

2gig ram here. I find it hard to believe that 512mb is only really for ultra settings. On those reviews it was getting around the same as my card (40fps) then with the tweat/fix or whatever it was going up into the 60s

all im trying to establish is -what fix/tweak is it?
