Well rented this and watching it now. about half way through and i have to say I am impressed.

We all knew it wasn't going to be a groundbreaking movie.

People slated it and stuff which is fair cause everyones open to there opinion.
I didn't exspect much from the movie, just guns and swear words. and hats what I've got.

waiting for the rock to pull some sort of wrestling move lol.

Anyone else enjoy this movie?

Thanks

Ruined by the storyline for me to be honest.

It was suppose to be about demons from hell not genetic disorder part of the human dna strand.

Just finished watching it and I am suprised. Quite good.

Didn't exspect the wicked fight scene at the end. Makes a change from all the gun shooting.

Like the little thinks they drop in there that are from the game.

And the FPS bit was ace.

Nice no brainer movie if you fancy a night in chilling. Nothing more, nothing less.

I would give it a steady 8/10

If you ignore The Rock's one liners, it's gets a 2, but with lines like:

Sarge: Doctor Carmack's condition IS irreversible.
[Shoots Carmack]
Sarge: Because Carmack's condition is THAT HE'S DEAD.

how can it be anything less than 10? :D

To sum up, I thought it was pretty rubbish but I don't normally like game->movie conversions anyway, it's not that they're not faithful to the games it's just that they're usually badly made. Casting the Rock was a masterstroke and made the film bearable.

i dont know what it is about the rock, but he might be my favourite actor ever. he was so good in Welcome to the Jungle, or whatever they called it in the end. not seen Doom yet though...might give it a bash this weekend.

Doom is a good movie. I have to admit I have always enjoyed films The Rock has been in for example, Welcome To the Jungle, Walking Tall and Be Cool.

Haven't seen this yet but it sounds like a laugh. Although It's funny how Doom the game had the simplest plot ever (demons from hell invade mars) and they still couldn't stick to it!

It's the sort of film you just watch, enjoy and don't think too much about. I enjoyed it but I wasn't expecting something on the level of Lord of the Rings.

Just seen this, took me a while to get around to watching it, which is a shock as i'm a huge fan of the games.

I thought it was rather good, sure it's no epic film but I went into it expecting exactly what I got.

Bit disppointed they didn't at least keep it to the "demons from Mars" storyline, but as has been said, Doom isn't about the story is it really? :D

Solid 8/10 from me. And the DVD is dirt cheap so i'm going to be picking it up when I see it in town.

I thought it was bearable - particularly surprising considering The Rock was cast for it. It's probably the best video game tie-in film I've seen yet, which probably isn't saying much.

This may well have been posted on this forum before, but it tickles me for some strange reason, so here you go...

Carmack's Condition

I thought it was god awful, especially being about a genetic virus type thing, basically made it similar to Resi Evil, had it been about hell it may have been good but then I'd still doubt it, the fps bit was awful, also the bit when Pinky comes along as the guy in the wheelchair was laughable!

I bought it as part of a double pack with 'Serenity'' for £5.99, I have yet to pluck up the courage to watch it, maybe with a few beers inside me it might be fun.

Ruined by the lack of the lines :
"Know your Role and Shut your Mouth"

"For the Millions, and the Million"

"It doesn't matter what you think/who you are/what your name is!"

"Its time to Lay the Smack Down"

"Well you can take that flaming fireball, turn it sideways, and stick straight up it up yourrr CAAnndDDyyy Ass". "Can you Smell, What the Rock is Cooking?"

If those lines were in the film It would have been the greatest film of all time (as voted for by me)
