Hi

completed the 1st one, now im playing the expansion and decided to change the settings to max to see how well it would run, and I cant get the antiliasing to 16x, max it will go is 4x,
another words, i change it to 16x and apply, close game, reload game and it goes back to OFF, 2x and 4x are fine

My GFX card is a 256Mb version but surely that cant be the reason why?

you getting confused, AA has a max of 6x not 16x, thats AF like you said.

just set them to the max in catalyst

I remember having the same problem, if i turned it up and restarted the game it went back off. I couldnt be bothered to find out why as i suddently re-realised how tatt doom 3 is and immediately uninstalled it and slung it.

Yeah i get the same problem. The doom 3 engine acts all werid like that for some reason. I get the same thing in all doom 3 engine games.

To be honest you don't really need a lot of AA in doom 3 anyway, since it's so dark you would hardly notice anyway.

I have a nvidia card, so i don't really know how to set it in catalyst as i've never owned ATi before.

I get much better performance by setting AA in the nvidia control panel. If i set it in game, the performance drop is terrible.

is everyone ensuring that they are not setting AA and AF as DirectX options? iirc, Doom 3 is OpenGL and therefore will require the settings applying to the OpenGL section of the CPL.

in my ATI Tray Tool, Direct 3D and Open GL both have AA as 6x and AF as 16x
