DOOM3 settings won't change in VISTA.

I decided to give DOOM3 another go and installed it onto vista 64bit. When I change the settings all to high, they don't stick and instead go back to the default settings.

Is there a fix for this? I've searched google but not had any luck.

Check the config file isn't read-only (and that your user has permissions to modify it)

not tried this game in vista but try "run as administrator". Fixes all sorts of silly things for older apps

Are you using an "official disk" to install the game or is it a backup?

If it is a backup this is the problem, if it is an original copy then I have no idea

Doom 3 has always been like this and so was many other doom 3 engine games. It was the same in XP

If i remember correctly, make a copy of your cfg config file and rename it Autoexe.cfg and that should load up your settings all the time.

Also right click the doom 3 shortcut and tick "run as administrator". If you don't the game might crash.
