We are all doomed.

The Doomsday Clock is a symbolic clockface maintained since 1947 by the Board of Directors of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists at the University of Chicago. It uses the analogy of the human race being at a time that is "minutes to midnight" where midnight represents destruction by nuclear war. The clock has appeared on the cover of each issue of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists since its introduction. The clock is currently set to five minutes to midnight, most recently updated on January 17, 2007.

2007 - Updated to five minutes to midnight due to the political climate change throughout the world as well as the North Korean test of an atomic weapon.

So if Doomsday happens real quick and they haven't had time to change the time on the clock, does this mean that doomsday never happened

More wishy washy rubbish that needs laughing at if you ask me.

it is indeed what the song refers to... very cool song and concept:)

this is quite mental actually... the clock hasn't been this close in over 20 years! 2 minutes to midnight would be brown trouser time!

1991 - United States and Soviet Union sign the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. Clock changed to seventeen minutes to midnight (seven minutes further, its greatest distance from midnight so far).

Got this from Wiki.

Wasn't 1991 the first gulf war? Surely that was a pretty bad time?

hmmmm, gives me a reason to clear out the old WWII bomb shelter beneath the shed outside, its 12 foot deep and has 5ft thick concrete reinforced walls and is about 2x4m inside. although im not kidding when i say its up to the rim with dust and **** from many years ago and the hatch weighs about half a ton.

Wouldn't do much against a nuke :p
And even if it did you'd starve to death since leaving the shelter = death due to radiation.

I think the best way to survive a nuclear war is to move to the most remote location you can think of that has a sustainable food supply. Of course then there's the issue of nuclear winter which you can't really escape from.
