Hi, on teamspeak 3 there's a admin (troll) that uses their server to Dos me.
I know what a Dos attack is and how to do such an action, but I never really thought of how you can prevent it.

Found some good information in this thread - http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r1895824-DOS-protection-on-routers-

But I don't want to spend £200+ on a ZyWall just to prevent these attacks.
Is there any other way to stop these fake packages being received by my connection?
Would blocking the port these packages come from do the trick?

A DOS attack works by saturating your available bandwidth and as such, any firewall you put at your end isn't going to do diddly squat to stop the attack.

The solution to your issue is;

a.) Collate logs and report the abuse to your ISP and the ISP of his server
b.) Stop using the TS server and change your IP

DoSing your home connection?
How much bandwidth do you have?
Yes sir
30mb VM

b.) Stop using the TS server and change your IP

Ok, my IP is static. I remember that on old package e.g. 20mb modem + router allowed you to change your ip in less then 2 minuets. But now, I don't know how to...

a.) Collate logs and report the abuse to your ISP and the ISP of his server

How can I search the logs by date and time? It would make things much easier, then searching through all the logs.

Sorry for my laikisch questions...

Change WAN IP. Connect to services that expose your IP (Skype, etc) using a VPN.

Do I need to put the superhub in modem mode?
More info would be good. ;)

Report to your ISP they should be able to do something for you.

In future use a VPN on team speak.

But I don't know his IP and I don't know how to get the logs.

I admit that I'm a laik when it comes down to network... :p

Not necessarily. Power down the SH for 30 mins and see if your IP changes.

But I was thinking of buying a new router anyway.
With a external router aparently its easy to do and I can change the IP when ever... Don't need a fast router since I only use Wi-Fi for smartphones and ipad.

EDIT

I used Mullvad and It shows sweedish flag, so one thing out of the way.

How do I change the IP?
From what I read I need modem + router
