I'm trying to update the bios on an Intel DG45ID. I have made a bootable USB stick using MS-DOS in rufus.I've copied over the iFlash2.exe, .BIO and .ITK files. The PC will boot to the USB stick fine. I then type the iFlash2.exe and it launches into this:

I then typed /i to see what the current is and it said bad command. It does this whatever command I try to do! Am I just too young to know how to use DOS now?

(I did actually use DOS when DOS was a thing to play The Lion King btw!)

edit- Oh I think I have to change the root directory I am operating in or something?
edit edit- all the files are just dumped in C: anyway :(

You'd run iflash2 /i to get the current BIOS info, not just /i on it's own. And to flash the new BIOS you'd run iflash2 followed by the file name of the new BIOS file.

That possibly means that the board in question is specific to the computer manufacturer rather than being a generic Intel example. Any BIOS update would have to come from the computer manufacturer rather than Intel.

Yeah it has an advent splash screen. I've been able to get around it in the past- an OCUK competitor had disabled the integrated graphics with their own gimped bios or something. When I installed the mobo manufacturers BIOS the integrated worked fine. Luckily it was dual bios Gigabyte board!

Maybe I'll try Intel's 'recovery' bios installing option as that is for corrupted bios'.
