Double cable transfer

Heres an interesting question:

I need to transfer a large amount of files between 2 PC's using 100mb Ethernet via a router, I am getting max speed or 99% at least but this will take about 5 hours est. at this speed so I had an idea, the PC I am transferring from has 2x100mb LAN if I plug cables into both of them via my router I get 2 connections going to the same PC, the other PC has 1x1gbit..

Is it possible to transfer files down both cables at the same time into the 1 PC?

I am using Windows 7

Very unlikely! Unless your router supports it (which, it probably doesn't)

The best way would be to:

1) Put a gigabit NIC into PC1
2) Buy a gigabit switch, plug both PCs and the router into this

Unless, of course, your router is already gigabit... then you only need the NIC for PC1

I have found an alternative, just plugged a USB HDD dock into PC1, tried a 250 GB slim HDD was only getting 5 MB/s (slower then ethernet) now using a faster 160 GB and getting about 30 MB/s (3x faster then ethernet) not enough to transfer the 200 GB load but it will do for now (it was about 250 GB when I started but I have reduced the load by deleting files)

EDIT: Only 100 GB left now. (with both methods combined I now have the equivalent of a 400 Mbit line)

for some reason the docked 160HDD is being treated a 2 drives as if its partitioned but I am sure that it was not, kind of funny really as the purpose of what im doing is to remove a partition on a drive and make it back into 1 partition (I have already looked at disk managmant options and option in the boot menu and it seems one partition is being treated a a system drive so I can't just delete and merge it) The PC I am trying clear data from is my 'spare' PC that had a duel boot setup over 2 drives (1 drive with a partition) with windows 7 and XP now I no longer need XP I want it setup as another Windows 7 PC with 2 HDD's 500 GB and 400 GB with NO partitions on either one, windows 7 is installed to the 500 GB and now I just have to clear the partition off the 400 GB so it becomes 1 drive again
