Been about 6 years from my last PC build - so, incase i missed something or going to order something incorrect, would like you experts to have a quick glance to make sure it will all fit together, please.

Cant order from OCuK as im in France, shame. But a 770 is a 770.

PC to be used for gaming and photoshop - no video editing thought, just photos. Wondering if an i5 would be better and 32 gig ram??

PC build so far;

Intel Core i7-4790K (4.0 GHz) Processeur
ASUS MAXIMUS VII RANGER
PCI Express (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770)
Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 Go Disque SSD
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 SATA 6Gb/s
Câble SATA (50 cm) Serial ATA
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Ventilateur processeur
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16 Go (2 x 8 Go) DDR3 1600 MHz CL9
Cooler Master Centurion 6 Noir Boîtier PC [ Can not decide on a good case - looking for something with 4 usb's on the front and jacks for headphones. ]
Corsair PSU 650W ATX 12V 2.31 / EPS 2.92

Build comes in at around 1400 euros.

Thanks for looking.

Hi Colin,

I really think 16GB RAM will be fine, so if you can afford the i7-4790K might as well get it for the hyper-threading and faster stock and turbo speed.

The most important of two changes I'd make is to swap out the GTX 770 for the new GTX 970*. The other is to get faster frequency RAM (2133/2400MHz). The latter is not so important but will eke out slightly more performance in a few games/tasks. So if you can get faster RAM for close to the same price as the 1600MHz set, then might as well.

A good 650W PSU (your list does not identify the exact Corsair model) would even be capable of running 2 x GTX 970's if needed in future, as the new technology means they don't require much power. It wouldn't be very capable of 2 x 770's.

Thanks Danny.

The PSU was a Corsair RM650 80PLUS Gold - seems ok from the reviews, but always up for better advice.

Didnt think the 970 was worth the extra 100 euros from the stats ive seen on it.

Will check out the memory as advised and more info on the 970 and the 980.

the 970 is well worth the extra cash and i would get one if you can stretch your budget that little bit further

It is more than well worth it. It is a night and day difference for a few notes more. Get the 970. Terrific value for money! :)
