Hey guys

I had this thought for a while and was wondering, can you use GPUs like GTX 690 or Radeon 7990 on mini itx motherboard which doesn't have SLI support?
I am not sure if it does have any multi GPU interface, I'd assume the answer is 'no'.
The reason I ask this, I am building a system at the moment, mini-itx based on Asus Z87I-Pro motherboard with i5-4670K and 8GB 2133 Avexir Gold ram on it.
I would love to have a suitable GPU an thought about new 290X Radeons, but then prices of 690s and HD 7990s will probably drop a lot so maybe they are worth a shot as well.
Question: Is motherboard going to support it?

Appreciate a lot the answer.

Cheers
BH

Cards like the GTX690, 7990, etc. work by internally splitting the physical PCI-e connection they are connected to into the equivalent of 2x pci-e ports with multi GPU support - each core is handled like a seperate graphics card and connects into a seperate PCI-e connection within the card.

Hi

Thanks for the explanation.
PSU is EVGA NEX750G, gold full modular. SO far it handeld 2 x 660ti on air cooling + i5-3570 and loads of fans/ssd's with no problem.
I am planing a watercooling both for gpu and cpu, on one loop.
Still wondering which GPU to go for, 690 /290X /7990 :)
Any thoughts?

Cheers
