After ordering my ADSL with namesco i received my zyxel 660R router which is a single port modem/router.

Now i have a linksys WRT54g and i would like to be able to hook that up to the zyxel however they both have DHCP, does that mean i can't do it?

So what i want is@

phone line > zyxel > linksys > wireless/network

Is this possible? Do i disabled DHCP on the zyxel or something like that?

Seems more sensible to me to disable DHCP on the WRT54g. But doesn't really matter - as long as only one of the boxes is acting as your DHCP server.

So iv got it hooked up now but the internet doesnt seem to work if i hook the linksys up to the zyxel, the linksys gets an ip as 192.168.1.4 so its getting an ip from the zyxel then all the pc's that hook up to the linksys get their ip from linksys.

Why doesnt this work? is it because i have 2 dhcp servers?

If it is why doesnt it work because the linksys gets its ip from the zyxel and all the pc's get their ip from the linksys so i would have thought that would work.

I changed the dhcp settings for the zyxel to run on the 0.1 range and its working fine now.

Now the bloody wireless has got a terrible signal and i cant figure out why :(
