Tempted to pick up Retribution in the Steam weekend deal, but am slightly bewildered by the amount of DLC available.

It would be great if someone could tell which they felt was worthwhile, as some of it seems to be pretty cosmetic stuff?

Yeah they have a stupid amount of DLC available.

Each race for campaign has a set of war-gear available for the Commander. So if you aren't interested in playing the campaign at all then ignore it, otherwise its worth getting to get past some of the hassle with early levels when you get sod all drops.

Each Hero for Last Stand has a couple of war-gears available. Since Last Stand is probably where you'll get the most replayability its a good idea to get those. They give you alternative playstyle options that can be quite fun (and on some heroes, necessary early on to avoid sucking). The most entertaining (and totally overpowered) one is probably the Mekboys with his telefragging upgrade.

Theres a Tau Commander Hero available for Last Stand. As above, you'll want that if you play Last Stand.

Then theres a bunch of ridiculously overpriced 'skins' which you can safely ignore.

Personally I got the Tau Commander and All Wargear Bundle for £4.41. Ignore the Complete Character Pack.

I grabbed Retribution & DLC in the steam sale but haven't really got round to playing it. There is a lot of cosmetic gear for all the races from character outfits to vehicles plus a load of new characters/heroes for the MP Last Stand mode.

If you enjoyed DoW II and the addons it's probably a good investment for a lot of content, easily worth the dosh.

I love DOW2 and Chaos Rising, esp the way you could import your previous squad settings, for that reason retribution was something of a let down for me :(, didnt like the new game mechanics for that reason.

I wasn't aware SC2 had a Last Stand mode?

Or a price that isn't being kept at RRP...

With the amount of customisation in SC2 i wouldn't be surprised if they had made a last stand mode...

Retribution is more of the same DoW2 goodness, it doesn't have gfwl so is a good step up from the previous DoW2 games... the single player is still a bit generic, the multiplayer is still great fun

Last Stand is good as long as you have some friends to play with, playing with online randoms usually leads to rage quitting due to their stupidness :(

plenty of custom games similar to land stand or any other mode you can think of. you really cant compare the two games even at RRP sc2 is a steal in terms of value.
