DoW: Dark Crusade... stuck :/

That's actually quite a small amount of the army they have when playing. Just playing the single player stuff, and went to attach a Chaos controlled land. Entered, built a base, tech'd up enough to launch Dreadnaughts and sent 5x Dreadnaughts and both Terminator squads in there, and they get destroyed in under a minute.

Any tips on how I can possible do this map? The computer seems to ignore the player cap / vehicle cap limit and sometimes they have no less than 10 of those spider walker vehicles along with Daemon Prince's x3 and the large superpower thing with tons of health.

What difficulty setting and which patch are you using?

Hmm, most likely normal setting, I didn't adjust it when I went in game. Also just straight from the disk so I'm guessing it's unpatched.

Patch it... there's been a lot of improvements since the first build! Even better add the half-scale, DOW XP etc mods...

I tend to find the most important thing to do is avoid levels like that until you own enough districts to have a sizable honor guard army before you take it on. They ignore unit cap and (especially dreadnaughts) are quite a bit more powerful than standard units.

When you run into a force of that size, instead of taking them on in a head-on battle, lure them into a trap of whirlwinds, snipers and turrets (and if possible a couple of tech 3 strat points, they make mince meat out of infantry). The most important of these is the whirlwinds and snipers as they destroy morale, use flamers if possible too, the breaking of thier morale lowers thier combat efficiency hugely. Once thier morale is down, hold them with your ground troops and continue to shell the back lines of thier army (avoid shelling your own people for obvious reasons), a well placed aeriel bombardment can do wonders.

Also engage the daemons with your heroes, they have a huge bonus against them, especially your main character if hes got all of the weapon upgrades.

But yeah, it is damn hard, one of the main factors is luck.

Thanks for the tips Upgraded game to 1.20 so hopefully some decent fixes, although was looking over them and Space Marines seem to get nerfed a lot and Chaos got a boost, so probably even harder

Second, at the higher rated areas the computer usually has 2-3 bases but only 1 base is fully developed at the beginning, you pretty much have to rush the other ones with your honour guard or you'll just be wiped out when the 2 or 3 bases worth of units steamroll you.

I found that patching nerf'd Tau and I regularly had more difficult fights.

Ah never knew that, will send my honor guards out to lack the smack down earlier on Although sometimes I find when I start that they already have millions of infantry and I die

If thats the one im thinking of then yes i found it damn hard, was under constant attack by 3 bloodthirsters , only way i could find of doing it was to rush out with your honour guard and destroy atleast two of the bases.
