DOW2 - Chaos Rising $5

Pricing error? I know Valve leave things be if you bought something with the wrong price displayed. But considering the price is still $5 it can't be.

And i bought Just Cause 2 online from Eidos' UK store while i was in Finland and that was fine.

Just got another email through with this in it:

"A refund has been generated for your order as a result of your request, the fulfiller's request, incorrect address, or a refused shipment."

So... what now exactly?

I bought a couple of games the same way before reading this thread and seeing about the refunds.

Seems pretty odd that they're just refunding money. I can't see Steam assisting them in removing games from accounts in anyway.

This tbh. I can't see them finding it on Steam and blocking the key. A free game, woot :D

but will they try and resell the key? And will it cause us any issues if we have to use that key wen installing the game? Like how GTA IV asks for the key even if you use Steam to install

No idea, only time will tell I guess. Perhaps everyone got refunds, not just us "UK" people?

After the Chaos Rising refunds business (I have not had one yet), I thought I would look to see what other games they have... well lets just say there are absolutely no games I would want, even if they are effectively for free :o

Went to THQ to see if I could register my game, entered my e-mail details for account registration (using the e-mail I bought the game with) chose Chaos Rising and it already had my key underneath the games I own, hmmm, all roads are pointing to free game for the moment, hope I didn't jinx it

i just got company of heroes gold and activated it on steam but it seems the only file steam wants to download is company of heroes beta? theres no CoH or the expansion?

Just using reg download manager for now.

I was wondering the same thing. Problem is though how is that gonna work for them. We have proof that we purchased the key from them and they refunded for absolutely no reason, after most of us attached it to our accounts.

I don't get it, all they've done is make work for themselves and lost money ><

On the topic of Chaos Rising, how the hell is that game doable on the higher difficulties. Loads of enemies with grenade launchers that trash cover, terrain lacking any suitable cover in the first place, ridiculous numbers of enemies pushing in on you that you can't possibly fight off.

The new guy can be fun though. Telefragging some poor sod then psychic blasting the mob you just appeared in the middle of (with optional 'chaos' engulfing yourself in flames). Dunno how useful he is though realistically tbh, he's too weak.

Anyone able to sign in to GFWL at all right now? I'm getting a timeout on their login screen and no response from their 'forgot password' web link which I loaded up to test. ****ing piece of crap won't let me play the single player campaign without logging in to a service that's unavailable - what the hell? **** you GFWL, **** you right in the ear.

I wouldn't exactly say no reason. Lets face it, forging your address most likely breaches their terms of service.

I haven't done this myself but possibly the refunds are because the addresses that people are using don't match their paypal billing address and therefore is being picked up as fraud / incurring a charge back by paypal?

It's kind of strange that they don't just filter out shoppers based on their IP address if they didn't want this sort of thing to happen.
