I'm not usually one to complain about pricing but has anyone seen the price for the Dawn of War 2: Chaos Rising?

Steam UK: £29.99
Steam US: $29.99
(and £18 for a physical copy online)

The first Dawn of War had similar "expansions" that could be played standalone. However, they didn't cost anywhere near as much and arguably contained more content. The entire THQ pack including DoW1 + expansions + DoW2 is only £26.49!

Wrong, but I won't be getting it til it's on special anyway. I liked DoWII, but it wasn't as good as the first. If they release a Dark Crusade-style expansion, I'll be on it, but I'm not enthused about this release.

Ive not seen whats in the expansion so cant comment on value for money but im not surprised by the price irregularities, many publishers are starting to tweak that you can stick your game on steam for a tenner more than in shops and people will still flock to it because it is steam (bad Comapny 2)

Always the way for pre-orders. Basically as with DoW2 if you can wait wait a few months then it will be 8-10 quid or even less..............

Also there's a very good chance that you will (like DoW2) be able to add the CD Key to steam anyway even if you purchase it elsewhere.

I never could get my head around Steam prices considering theres no packaging, no shipping, no instructions and yet it costs more.

I'll be getting Chaos Rising but not from Steam.

13 single player missions, a new race, 7 new multiplayer maps and a couple of new Last Stand heroes. Hardly justifies the full game price tag, IMO.

I've pre-ordered for £18. Still seems odd that it's a $1:£1 conversion rate on Steam though.

If that was true, it would be more in the US too...

Wonder if a physical copy can be applied to steam, the original was wasn't it?

DoW2 is still a Steam game no matter where it was bought from, Chaos Rising most likely will be as well.

Original DoW1 can't be added to Steam unless bought there

Probably won't get it for a while anyway, I've only just bought the THQ pack and haven't completed anything yet. Titan Quest is epic, DoW2 is epic, CoH is epic, RF1 and 2 are pretty good, Guerilla is pretty fun just to destroy stuff, but I can't get into Stalker (damn wobbly camera). Haven't tried anythng else.

It's really weird as it's only €30 over here meaning it's one of those rare times when it's cheaper to buy it over here than in England. Not by much mind but still cheaper. Perhaps this marks the start of a new era in Steam pricing :D

It does seem a bit excessive
Maybe its an error

Like others I have the hardcopy preordered for £18, looking forward to it
