Iain Dowie has been officially named new Addicks boss.

Pleased to see Les Reed back at the Valley as No.2, and also Mark Robson as part of the set-up.

Not bad at all - Les Reed was a big factor supporting Alan Curbishley for some years, and he should be quite an influence over tactics (he was also part of the England coaching staff).

Jordan has already tried to issue him with a writ, it's brought the news conference to a halt:p

Edit: Jordan's saying that he fraudulently obtained a release from his contract & Jordan waived a £1m compensation clause for him

Jordans got a good point , mutually agreeing to leave for "geographical reasons" then pitching up a few miles down the road.
Its not on , hope Jordan takes him for all hes got.

Crystal Palace have taken legal action against their former manager Iain Dowie, who has been unveiled as the new boss of Charlton.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan confirmed the club served Dowie with a writ for "fraudulent statements about his reasons for leaving the club".

Never a dull moment with Simon Jordan about! I respect the guy cos he always sticks up for himself and for his team.

He has a point here though as frankly he's been stitched up, you'd have thought Dowie would know the last guy you **** about with is Jordan! Cos he aint ever gonna take it lying down.

Nice one Dowie, personally I can't stand Simon Jordan so this has made me smile. :D I think Dowie will do a good job at Charlton, Curbishley did a wonderful thing there but I think it was time for someone new to be honest.

Simon Jordan is doing the right thing, it sounds like dowie doesn't have a leg to stand on in this case . In any case Charlton will be relegated within 2 years with Dowie.

Good move for Charlton imo, but totally agree with Jordan here, he really has been mucked about by Dowie if his side of the story is the true one. Of course Dowie has come out and said he merely wanted a new challenge, be interesting to see who's telling the truth.

when dowie left , him and jordan did a press conference , he said then that he reason for leaving was his family, its all on tape.

A press guy even mentioned the charlton move , and jordan said he believed dowies word was true. lol

Dowie was outside the contract by 9 days when officially approached by Charlton. AFAIK

Any contractual obligation to CP ended as far as I see it. That contract is worth nothing now.
It's the fraudulent way (allegedly) he ended the contract that Jordan is fuming about, not that he was under contract when he first spoke to Charlton:)

It sounds like its the other way around, if the bit with the signature only says "mutal consent" then Jordan has to live with it.
