Down gradable

Hi Guys this is going to sound pretty much of a noob question, but can you run pc6400 ddr2 memory on a motherboard that only supports up2 pc5300? Thus be down gradable?

Memory is backwards compatible so yes (that's not to say your Mobo or Bios may not like a certain type of Memory).
