Down the rabbit hole, first build in 9 years! (Budget Ryzen 2600 build)

As the title says, first build in a long time, back then I was able to afford a Phenom II X4 B50 and an MSI AMD 5850. Been using a HP laptop with a basic i5-4210 and basic AMD R5 M255 graphics since then, 4GB of Ram.

I pretty much exclusively play Ro2 Rising Storm: Vietnam on the lowest settings known to man The game was updated last week and I've been struggling to play, so here I am!

I've purchased a Ryzen 2600 on the MM and hoping to build a budget rig around this.

Something along the lines of the following spec. Will likely try to pick up the GPU 2nd hand, after just missing out on a Brand New Vega 56 for £190, doh!

I'm hoping the actual cost will come in under £700.

I'm unsure whether;

- There are better value motherboards out there for this CPU?
- Do I need a 750W PSU for this build?
- What sort of Monitor I should be looking at.

What are your thoughts? Any problems or does it look like I've missed anthing.

Hoping I'll be able to play some newer titles and enjoy Ro2 in a way I haven't been able to before.

Below comes in below £700 - but didn't include 2600 as you've bought it already(?)

• With the 2600 there are minimal gains with 3200MHZ so you can save £10 with 3000MHz set if needed
• The motherboard choice is solid - especially if you were to upgrade to Zen 2 in future.
• SDD is £20 cheaper - no real life speed difference (but only 3 year guarantee as opposed to 5 of the crucial)
• You only need a quality 650W unit - the Corsair is in the sale and 10 year guarantee.
• As for monitor - depends on budget - e.g. 24"/27" 1080p 144Hz would fly with below spec on ultra (could consider 1440p - but budget dependent)
• You could swap to a Micro-ATX case (smaller) - but that's a personal choice.

EDIT: Given your criteria for spec - money could be saved again if you swapped out the V56 for a RX 580 (approx ~£80) if gaming at 1080p. But, the V56 coupled with your 2600 will maintain consistently high FPS on a 1080p, 144Hz panel on ULTRA settings - if desired.​

I am hoping for the smallest case possible, I thought Midi Cases were for Matx Boards for some reason, so nice one for that.

Will also take a look at some 650W PSU's and different RAM.

I think spending money on a decent monitor is wise, would like to watch films on it too so maybe higher res makes sense...
