Ok so ive made quite a fue posts because im having trouble getting the performance I think I should from my 5850. Tonight ive downclocked my gpu to lowest settings in ccc, and Crysis and a fue other games seem to run better! Could anyone tell me why this seems to be the case? will downclocking cause me trouble, or will it improve how cool my gpu runs? thanks....

downclock= better performance?

Dunno why that would happen if you're downclocking the core, but it can happen if you are downclocking the memory because the memory will not artifact if clocked too high, instead it degrades performance.
I havent seen it myself, but some peeps report better perf with mem @ 1200 than at 1300.
